Reverend David Burt ended 4 years of pastoral leadership at the Heart of Longmont UM Church on June 26th. Church members turned out to celebrate him and his wife, Rebecca, in full force.

A memorable church service full of joy and celebration culminated with a BBQ lunch. People had an opportunity to wish David and Rebecca well on their journey into David’s retirement.

It was an occasion for tears, laughter and memories. David’s focus on “putting more of God’s love into the world” guided HOL toward a focused mission of transforming lives and the world. A focus that doesn’t end with David’s departure but strengthens the missional momentum with Reverend Claire McNulty-Drewes’ arrival.
