Each fall several church members participate in the Church of the Resurrection’s Leadership Institute. Following last fall’s program, participants formed a ‘small’ team to implement some of the ideas and practices presented at the Institute. The goal is to bring to life these ideas and practices to enhance our worship experience and missional outreach.
Some of the actions taken to date include:
- improving communication – PowerPoint slides before Sunday service and Instagram daily devotions
- changes to the worship experience – exploration of outside groups for music, sermon series on faith questions
- transitioning the children’s program – recruitment of Sunday School volunteers, Safe Gatherings certification for volunteers, Children’s Time during worship
- deepening connections with Wild Plum staff and families – breakfast for staff in December, Chef Hearty, Valentines for children from our HOL Kids
The team will continue to explore ways to enrich worship, deepen connections between members and strengthen and develop active relationships with the community with God’s guidance.
