Education is one of the mission focuses for Heart of Longmont. From the Leadership Institute Visionaries (LIV) an idea for a reading club originated.
The premise is to provide a story telling time Saturday mornings to Wild Plum families and the Kiteley neighborhood.
Two sessions lasting 45 minutes will be offered with reading in Spanish followed by a reading in English. Each session will have a group for K through 5th grade and another group for infants and toddlers. Following the story time each child will get a snack to take home.
Some of the specifics are still being hammered out by LIV but the program is scheduled to start April 23rd and run until May 21st.
Readers are needed, especially those who are fluent in Spanish. If you are interested in being a reader, please contact Rod Edmonds.
Hopes are high that this program will provide an opportunity for children to have fun and strengthen their reading interests.
