If you are planning to attend the Songs of Autumn Concert with Sam Kauffman, congratulations! You’re in for a treat when the nationally and internationally known Christian singer and song writer will be performing this Saturday evening right here in our sanctuary.

Sam’s love of God’s Word and the ministry of music was developed in her younger years as she sat in the church balcony and hung onto every word and musical note. God was speaking to her, calling on her to spread His joy through musical ministry.

Born and raised in Seattle, Sam began playing piano at five years of age. Perhaps she came by her talent naturally, as her mother, a school teacher, had a master’s degree in music. Sam graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts degree, focusing on music and English. There is a Colorado connection, too, as she continued to enrich her musical gifts through vocal study at Denver’s Academy of the Arts and attendance at performance workshops in Estes Park.

It was while in Estes Park that she learned that age doesn’t matter when it comes to serving the Lord. According to Sam, we all have our own talents to offer, no matter what stage of life we are in. We are all necessary.

Sam’s God-given talents shine in her children’s books and poetry publications. One particular children’s book, “The Story of the Little Star,” is widely used in Christmas pageants. She has developed over fifty theme based programs based on Scripture, supported by her original music, stories, poetry and dramas.

While Sam has received much fame through radio air time, her books and her ministry around the world, it is her personal connection with churches that is the focus of her Servant’s Heart Ministry.

She is quoted as saying, “Serving the needs of the local church is at the heart of my ministry.”

Don’t miss her concert Saturday at 7:00 p.m. as she brings her unique talents to spread the joy of God’s Word right here.
