Hi, I'm Pastor Angie!

Pastor Angie Dornisch (she/her) is a compassionate and charismatic leader with a servant’s heart for Jesus and a deep love for people. She was appointed to serve Heart of Longmont United Methodist Church starting July 1, 2025, and is thrilled to see what God has in store for the church in the days, months, and years ahead. Born and raised in Greeley, Colorado, Angie’s move to the Longmont area feels like coming home.

Angie is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and earned her Master of Divinity degree from Denver Seminary in 2016. Before seminary, she studied at the University of Northern Colorado. She brings more than seventeen years of experience working in churches and nonprofits, with a passion for creating welcoming, justice-centered communities of faith.

Her heart for mission has taken her on over twenty-six service trips around the world, including a year-long journey with the World Race in 2011. She has served in orphanages, built homes, and partnered with congregations in countries such as the Philippines, Guatemala, and Uganda. While attending seminary, she was the resident program director at Streets Hope, a Denver-based safe house for women who have experienced human trafficking.

In addition to her pastoral ministry, Pastor Angie is deeply committed to justice and mercy work. Currently, she serves as a volunteer chaplain for the City of Longmont’s public safety personnel, including firefighters, police officers, 911 dispatchers, and park rangers. This allows her to offer care and support to both city staff and community members during times of crisis, grief, and stress. Before serving as a volunteer chaplain, Angie was a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children in foster care from 2020 to 2025. 

Outside of ministry, Angie enjoys gardening, hiking, traveling, watching movies, doing embroidery, putting together puzzles, and frequenting local coffee shops. She and her husband, Russ, have been married for eight years and they have a son named Micah and a Bernese Mountain Dog named Winston.
